Address Settings – Virtual Group Addresses

Contents

The LOGIKMODULE supports a virtual group address range.

Telegrams within this range are processed internally by the LOGIKMODULE and are not transmitted to the KNX bus.

This allows internal communication to be implemented without generating additional telegram load on the KNX bus.

Configuring the Virtual Group Address Range

The virtual group address range can be:

  • enabled or disabled,

  • configured with an individual start address.

Address Settings – Virtual Group Addresses

The virtual group address range is enabled by default.

By default, it starts at:

16/0/0

and ends at:

31/7/255

If virtual group addresses are enabled, a different start address can be specified under Start of Virtual Group Addresses.

Example

If

31/0/0

is configured as the start of the virtual group address range, group addresses up to

30/7/255

are transmitted to the KNX bus.

Group addresses from

31/0/0 to 31/7/255

are processed internally by the LOGIKMODULE only.

Note

Telegrams within the virtual group address range are not transmitted to the KNX bus.

However, they can be used for internal communication and logic functions within the LOGIKMODULE.

Disabling Virtual Group Addresses

If Virtual Group Addresses is disabled, no separate virtual address range is used.

In this case, group addresses within the entire range from

0/0/0 to 31/7/255

can be transmitted to the KNX bus.

Note

Disabling the virtual group address range may result in additional telegrams being transmitted to the KNX bus.

Take this into account especially for extensive logic configurations or installations with a high telegram load.
