Operating Mode

Use the Operating Mode setting to define which Bluesound device or BluOS group is controlled by the Smart Home App instance and how the participating devices are grouped for announcements, presets, and playlists.

The following operating modes are available:

• Single Device
  Select a single Bluesound player to be controlled independently. If the device is already part of another group, it is temporarily removed from that group for the requested playback. Using the Grouping Behavior setting, you can define whether the original group is restored afterwards or whether the new grouping remains active.

• Dynamic Group
  First select a primary device, then add up to ten additional devices. When an announcement is played or a preset or playlist is started, the Smart Home App temporarily removes the selected devices from any existing groups (if necessary) and creates a new playback group. The primary device acts as the group leader. After playback has finished, the original grouping is either restored or the current grouping is retained, depending on the Grouping Behavior setting.

• Fixed Group
  Known in BluOS as a Fixed Group. Select an existing group that has already been created in the BluOS app. Only detected group masters or fixed groups configured in BluOS are available for selection. The Smart Home App uses the existing group without modifying its structure.

  If a fixed group is not listed, it must first be created in the BluOS app or detected during device discovery.
