Elements “Modbus TCP Value Input” and “Modbus TCP Value Output”
In addition to the Value Input and Value Output elements for KNX data points, the LOGIKEDITOR provides separate logic elements for Modbus TCP.
The Modbus TCP Value Input and Modbus TCP Value Output elements serve as interfaces to the configured Modbus TCP data points within logic groups.
Modbus TCP data points are used within logic groups in a similar way to KNX data points and enable values to be exchanged between Modbus TCP devices and the logic.
LOGIKEDITOR Element “Modbus TCP Value Input”
The Modbus TCP Value Input is used to read values from a Modbus TCP device into a logic group.
The selected Modbus TCP data point is polled cyclically according to the configured polling interval. The current value is then available within the logic group for further processing.
LOGIKEDITOR Element “Modbus TCP Value Output”
The Modbus TCP Value Output is used to write values from a logic group to a Modbus TCP device.
When the logic value applied to the value output changes, it is transmitted to the corresponding device via the assigned Modbus TCP data point.
Note
Only writable Modbus TCP data points can be selected in the Modbus TCP Value Output.
Write access is possible for the following register types:

Coil
-
Holding Register
Discrete Input and Input Register are read-only and are therefore not available for selection in the Modbus TCP Value Output.
Linking a Modbus TCP Element in a Logic Group
The Modbus TCP Value Input and Modbus TCP Value Output elements are added and configured like other inputs and outputs within a logic group.
The assignment for each element is performed in two steps:

Under MODBUS TCP DEVICE, select the required Modbus TCP device.

Under DATA POINT, select the required Modbus TCP data point assigned to that device.
This defines which Modbus value is read into the logic or transmitted from the logic to the Modbus TCP device.
If only one data point is assigned to a Modbus TCP device, it is selected automatically.
Only Modbus data points that are writable can be selected in the Modbus TCP value output. These include registers of the ‘Coil’ and ‘Holding Register’ types.
