Operation as a Line Repeater
When using ETS version 5.7.7 or later together with the application program "Bereichs-Linien-Koppler/Verstärker 90242x", the coupler can be operated as a Line Repeater to extend larger KNX installations.
Since a Line Repeater provides fewer functions than a Segment Coupler, the use of a Segment Coupler is recommended whenever possible.
The Line Repeater connects the first line segment of a KNX line with a subordinate line segment while providing galvanic isolation between the two segments.
This allows the individual line segments to operate electrically independent of one another.
Unlike a Segment Coupler, a Line Repeater:

has no information about the devices located in the individual line segments and therefore forwards all physically addressed telegrams.

has no filter table, so all group telegrams are forwarded without filtering.

always forwards broadcast telegrams.
Note
Cascading multiple Line Repeaters is not permitted.
Commissioning
When commissioning a KNX project using Line Repeaters, the following sequence is recommended:

Configure the KNX installation (physical addresses, group addresses, and parameters).

If applicable, first program the physical addresses of the Area and Line Couplers.

Then program the physical addresses of the Line Repeaters and download their application programs.

Download the application programs to the couplers.

Finally, program the physical addresses of the remaining KNX devices and download the application programs to the sensors, actuators, and other devices.
The Line Repeater can be programmed from either the superordinate line or the subordinate line.
Topology
To increase the number of devices connected to an existing KNX line or to extend the maximum cable length, additional line segments can be created using Line Repeaters (LR).
Each line or line segment requires its own KNX power supply (PS) and is galvanically isolated from the other line segments.
The Line Repeater forwards telegrams between the individual line segments without group address filtering.
Note
Line Repeaters must be connected in parallel.
Due to the Routing Counter, a telegram can pass through a maximum of six couplers (LR–LC–AC–AC–LC–LR).
The Line Repeater electronics are powered via the superordinate line.
