Telegram forwarding can be configured independently for both communication directions:
-
From the superordinate side
-
From the subordinate side
The available options depend on the type of telegram.

Group Addresses
For group telegrams, the coupler distinguishes between the following main groups:
-
0 ... 13
-
14 ... 31
The following options are available:
Forward Unfiltered
The coupler ignores the entries in the filter table and forwards all group telegrams.
This setting is particularly useful during commissioning of a KNX installation when filter tables should not be updated after every change to group address assignments.
Alternatively, group address filtering can be disabled using the Pass GA button.
Block
No group telegrams are forwarded.
This setting can be used, for example, when individual parts of a KNX installation are to be tested independently.
Filter
The coupler compares the group address with its filter table.
The telegram is forwarded only if a matching entry exists.
This setting is recommended for normal operation because only the required telegrams are forwarded, reducing the overall bus load.
Physical Addresses
Physically addressed telegrams are primarily used for commissioning and diagnostics.
The following options are available:
Forward Unfiltered
The coupler does not check the destination address of a telegram and forwards all physically addressed telegrams.
This setting is particularly useful during commissioning when a programming interface is connected to different bus lines.
Alternatively, physical address filtering can be disabled using the Pass IA button.
Block
No physically addressed telegrams are forwarded.
This setting can be used for testing purposes or to increase protection against unauthorized access.
For effective protection, Secure Commissioning should also be enabled.
Filter (Depending on Destination and Coupler Address)
When operating as an Area Coupler or Line Coupler, the device compares the destination address with its own physical address.
When operating as a Segment Coupler, the comparison is performed using the list of devices assigned to the subordinate line segment.
The telegram is forwarded only if a matching entry exists.
This setting is recommended for normal operation because it reduces bus traffic.
Broadcast
Broadcast telegrams (address 0/0 or 0/0/0) are used during commissioning and diagnostics, for example to detect or program physical addresses.
The following options are available:
Forward Unfiltered
Broadcast telegrams are always forwarded.
This setting allows devices to be commissioned across different areas or lines of a KNX installation.
Block
Broadcast telegrams are always blocked.
This setting increases protection against unauthorized access to the KNX installation.
For effective protection, Secure Commissioning should also be enabled.
Manual Operation
During normal operation, the coupler filters telegrams according to its filter table and its position within the KNX topology.
During commissioning or diagnostic work, it may be useful to temporarily forward all group telegrams and/or physically addressed telegrams without filtering.
This can be activated using the Pass IA and Pass GA buttons.
Manual Operation Duration
This parameter defines how long manually enabled forwarding remains active.
After the configured time has elapsed, the coupler automatically returns to normal filtering.
If the corresponding button is pressed again before the timeout expires, manual forwarding is terminated immediately.
