The coupler can be used in a KNX topology as:

an Area Coupler,
-
a Line Coupler,
-
a Segment Coupler, or
-
a Line Repeater,
depending on its assigned physical address.
The functionality and parameterization options are identical for Area Couplers, Line Couplers, and Segment Couplers.
Only when operated as a Line Repeater is the available functionality reduced.
Note
When using ETS6 together with the application program "Bereichs-Linien-Segment-Koppler V2.20", the coupler can be operated as a Segment Coupler for extending larger KNX installations.
This operating mode is recommended instead of using a Line Repeater.
