Miscellaneous
The further description is based on the EIBPORT. The procedure is identical for the other Gateways that also have a HOOC gateway integrated.
The HOOC CONNECT E Gateway in the EIBPORT links to the HOOC Cloud via an encrypted and secure VPN connection. It forms the core of the HOOC VPN services and in addition to extensive user management, offers many additional features such as a KNX bus monitor, telegram logging or alarm messages with push function.
In just four steps you can activate secure remote access to your smart home system:
Step 1: Set up a HOOC Admin Account
Set up a free account for your system(s) in the HOOC portal (myHOOC - User login).
If you already have an account as a system integrator, a new account is not required. Simply add the new system to your existing account. This gives you convenient access to all systems via one account.
Step 2: Purchase license in the HOOC portal
Under "Account" (menu item of the same name), you will find the "Shop" section where you will find all available services.
Select the product "HOOC Connect E LT BAB PREMIUM PLUS" for your gateway At the end of the purchase process, you will receive a serial number which is required for activation.
Step 3: Activate the HOOC Gateway Manager
The HOOC Gateway Manager is located in the gateway's web interface. Call up the "Remote access" menu item either via the BAB STARTER or directly via a web browser and activate it.
If the HOOC Gateway Manager is not available on your gateway, it can be installed via a free firmware update (provided the gateway is compatible).
Step 4: Register the Gateway in the HOOC Portal
Register the gateway using the hardware ID and serial number.
For this purpose, an activation code is generated in the HOOC portal with these two details, which only needs to be stored in the gateway.
The gateway is then ready for use and securely accessible via VPN over the Internet.
