Authentication

Before the APPMODULE can be used with Apple Home, it must be paired with the Apple Home app.

If the APPMODULE has already been paired previously, remove the existing pairing from the Apple Home app before continuing. This ensures that the new pairing process can be completed without issues. Confirm the warning message when prompted.

Start the pairing process by clicking “Start Pairing” and wait at least 3 seconds.

A setup code is then generated and displayed in the Bridge Pairing Setup Code field.

Bridge Pairing Setup Code

Open the Apple Home app on your Apple device, select “Add Accessory”, and then choose “Enter Code Manually”.

Enter the displayed setup code to complete the pairing process.

After pairing has been completed, every device that is created and configured in the device management will automatically become available in the Apple Home app.

Group Address Information

The control address (“xxx change”) is used by Apple Home to send commands to KNX devices.

If no separate status address (“xxx query”) is configured, the control address is also used to receive status updates. Changes received from the KNX system are then reflected automatically in the Apple Home app.

When a dedicated status address is configured, it is used exclusively to transmit status information from the KNX installation to Apple Home.

For the following device types, Apple's specification requires a Current Status group address:

  • Roller Shutter

  • Blind

  • Garage Door

  • Thermostat

Note

If no status value is received on a Current Status group address, the corresponding device cannot be controlled from Apple Home.

If a specific device function is not used—for example, an optional thermostat function—the corresponding Current Status group address does not need to be configured.
